The Burlington Public Library- then known as the Carnegie Library- first opened its doors in 1916 following a 1914 WA State Legislature law was passed empowering towns to establish and create a library and library board. The Carnegie Building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. The Burlington Public Library moved to its current location in 2007.

Now, the Burlington Public Library works to inspire, empower, and connect the Burlington-Edison community through programs such as summer reading sessions, Garden Storytime, Puzzle Exchanges, Flower Arrangement introductions, and so much more!
